Hi, I'm Lisa!
I am a professional Birth Doula (CD-L) serving the West Valley and greater Phoenix area.
I am blessed to be the mama of five amazing tiny humans, and the wife to my hot husband (not afraid to brag about it). My family challenges and completes me in ways I never expected. Their support of this work I do is unwavering.
My Story
When I became pregnant with our first child, I was ready to jump into everything feet first and have the experience I desired. Unfortunately, my husband and I experienced a devastating loss that brought with it unexpected complications. When we became pregnant again over a year later, I was considered high risk and was told that my only option was to birth in a hospital, although I had dreamed of an out of hospital birth.
During my experience with my first daughter’s birth, I felt unheard, pressured, rushed, and basically invisible. It was due to this experience that I decided I wanted something different for the birth of my next child. I chose a birth center and was immediately relieved to find personalized, compassionate, and respectful care. It was here that I was first introduced to what a doula is and does. This was so refreshing and beautiful that I questioned why every woman didn’t get to have a doula.
I knew that the support and care I received was something all women deserve during one of the most important and transforming times in their lives. I attended my first birth as a doula in 2014 and instantly felt that THIS was my calling. I finally knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I continued to attend births of friends, and family members as their doula while pursuing my certification, and additional trainings. With each experience, I fell more in love with this work and witnessing the families I supported step into their new roles. Whether it was their first or fourth child, the joy and transformation was always tangible.
I support physiological birth and specialize in home and birth center births, while also still supporting hospital births.
A doula is your guide, your advocate, and your support during one of the most amazing and important times of your life! As YOUR doula my goal is to provide evidence-based care so families know they are in charge of their experience and that their voices matter most to help them achieve the birth they desire. I do not take this responsibility lightly and I am always honored to be invited into such an intimate and sacred space.
